I have loved working in analytics for over two years. I am an initiative-taking mom who always loves to learn innovative technologies and solve problems. I concentrate on analyzing large data sets and creating machine learning models to help businesses make the right decisions using data-driven decision-making. Extracting actionable insights is my goal in any project. I am experienced in Python, Data Cleaning, Data Visualization, and Machine Learning.
I was born and raised in Southern California. I moved to Mexico when I was 12 stayed there and got a BS in Business Administration. I had a successful career as a financial administrator managing multiple companies and analyzing their financial assets, but decided I needed a change and wanted to come back to the states.
After working for Diltex and establishing myself a bit as an account representative providing IT solutions to federal, state, and local government, I moved on to LabCorp to pursue a job in healthcare. Although I learned a lot at LabCorp about problem solving and analyzing, the job did not meet my getting into healthcare expectations.
I decided to pursue a graduate degree in Data Science where I worked on multiple projects throughout the program. I became proficient in data collection, evaluation, data mining, and machine learning and gained technical programming skills in Python, R, SQL Databases, and parallel and distributed computing methods using Spark.
During school I partnered with Ugly Christmas Party on a data science project to create an accurate model to help them determine how many sweaters they will sell for each design created. This project consisted of retail data analysis using machine learning techniques in Python and Sklearn packages.
I am fluent in Spanish and English. While I am not working or studying innovative technologies, I spend time with my family, watching movies, going to the park, painting, or reading data science articles. I genuinely believe in the yes, we can (“Si se puede”) attitude meaning you can accomplish anything you set your mind to by perseverance and consistency.
